1) Kids Against Hunger--Travel to John Knox retirement home to pack boxes that we will then be able to use in our EFUMC Food Bank.

2) Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center--Help with their "Planting Day."

3) Emily's Meals--Prepare a meal in our church kitchen and then distribute to homeless in the area.

4) Handy Helps for Church Members--Help members of our church with odd jobs, etc.   We need members to let us know if you have any jobs for our volunteers around your house.  It can be as simple as changing light bulbs.

5) Church Farm--Help with "Planting Day."

6) Make Care Packages for Police and Fire Departments--Bake cookies prior to February 29th and bring them to church so that we can assemble and distribute to the 4 fire stations and 1 police station.  There is a total of about 225 people in both departments so we will need lots of cookies.  Please let Jackie Billings (956 279 7904) know you are planning to bring cookies or sign up.  If you want to help deliver, please let us know that, too.  You can bring cookies, and then go help on another project as well.  
 

 

Dear Father in Heaven,

Please let us all be in prayer for these projects as well as for our church family.  Help us to be the church in our community and to be seen as workers for you in Edinburg.  Guide us as we pray about where we best can serve and then lead us to volunteer to help.  In your name, Amen.
